“We stand at a critical moment in Earth’s history, a time when humanity must choose its future. As the world becomes increasingly interdependent and fragile, the future at once holds great peril and great promise. To move forward we must recognize that in the midst of a magnificent diversity of cultures and life forms we are one human family and one Earth community with a common destiny. We must join together to bring forth a sustainable global society founded on respect for nature, universal human rights, economic justice, and a culture of peace. Towards this end, it is imperative that we, the peoples of Earth, declare our responsibility to one another, to the greater community of life, and to future generations.”

Don't Fight the System
It is time to change our ways, not through acts of resistance, but by implementing new systems of governance, commerce, and finance to enable the development of an ethically rich, socially just global society existing harmoniously within nature.
Help Create a Better One
To create a humane humanity, we unite the millions of existing movements of progressive change under a banner of commonality. Each one exists to improve our ways of being. That goal is held in common. Individually, our power to change things is limited. But together, focused and united in action, with common goals for the common good, we will create the society that most of us want, and so many desperately need.
Unite
There is a saying, ‘many hands make light work’. The fastest, most likely way to fundamentally change the world is by uniting everyone engaged within existing movements of progressive change, creating one massive, self-supporting, powerful movement within which each plays a significant role.
So, we invite every person and every entity interested in securing a better future for all Earth children, to unite as One. Tens of thousands of movements become One.
This does not mean you abandon your current activities. On the contrary, you expand what you are doing by dedicating a small percentage of time and resources on coalition building.

Outposts of Change was written to help heal the world by inspiring fundamental social change. It provides both environmental and social justice guidance and proposes new goals designed to enable us to not just survive, but to thrive. To achieve these goals will require the largest and most unifying movement of social change ever attempted. Outposts develops a plan of action to create and empower that movement.
